Alex Murzaku

Alex Murzaku leads research and development at Gap International’s Genius Institute. Specifically, he focuses in the areas of language and exceptional performance, computational linguistics, data analysis, and applying AI/ML solutions to various areas of consulting and data analysis. He has also managed a rapid growth of the research team contributing to all aspects of the organization.

Since joining Gap in 2014, Dr. Murzaku has been accountable for various aspects of linguistic research and development of digital products. Prior to joining Gap, he held leadership roles in the software industry in startups as well as more established corporations, followed by a twenty-year academic career as a tenured professor of Language and Data. 

Dr. Murzaku has consulted with companies in Europe, Africa, and across the United States for creating a breakthrough environment and pushing the limits of creativity in leveraging one’s own Genius. 

Dr. Murzaku is a Member of the Board of the Southeastern European Studies Association and a Member of the Scientific Councils at the University of Calabria and the University of Macerata. He holds a B.A./M.A. in French and Albanian linguistics and B.S. in Computer Science from University of Tirana, an M.A. in Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Calabria, and a Ph.D. in Computational Linguistics from the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa.
